World Poetry Day, celebrated on March 21st, honors the beauty of poetry, how verses have the power to inspire, bring joy, tease emotions. Established by the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), as a poet I celebrate with poets worldwide today and encourages the appreciation and creation of poetry in everyone.

Domestic Violence is a major issue in Australia.
DEADLY LOVE
He kisses my lips so gently at night.
After he defeats me,
Beats me,
Wins.
He caresses my hand so tenderly.
His love,
His care,
His fist.
We Make Love so passionately.
After I've seen stars above,
No glove,
No bag,
Just my lips.
He holds me close with such an embrace.
After he hits me,
Kicks me,
Beats my face.
I tell myself I'm worth more.
My face so sore,
His lies,
My cries,
Our bliss.
He kisses my lips so a gently at night,
after he defeats me, beats me, wins.
THIS IS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. *The Stories that haunted me at Night in AWP*
